It’s Just That Simple

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
1 The next day[a] there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.
3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”
5 It’s just that simple when we follow instructions or the instructions that are given to us by those who are leading us things happen!
It’s just that simple!
Tonight we’re studying about how following instructions can cause a miracle to happen in your life!!!
We see in the lesson that there was a wedding that took place at Cana of Galilee!
And I don’t want to focus on the fact that a miracle took place, or how the how miracle happened, but I want to talk about why the miracle took place!
The miracle took place because the number one- Jesus was in the midst, but mainly because the people involved knew how to follow instructions.
It’s just that simple!!!
This week has been a whirlwind of a week and today is only Tuesday and I’m still learning how to follow instructions.
But I stopped by to encourage someone tonight to tell them that when we follow the instructions miracles happen, things change, breakthroughs come forth, healings happen, and it’s just that simple!
How many times have you purchased an item that came with a set of instructions or a blueprint, and you looked at that item and you decided that I can just start using this and I don’t need to follow these instructions or read these instructions? Only to find out later that had you stopped and taken the time to read the instructions and to follow the instructions. It would’ve saved you a lot of heartache and time!
It’s just that simple!
Story about my husband and the microwave
Today I was helping my daughter with her school project, and it took a little longer than it probably should have because instead of me listening to her and following her instructions I was asking questions, and trying to figure out a simpler way to complete the tasks. When all I had to do was follow her instructions!!!
It’s just that simple!!!
It wasn’t until my friend told me to hush and to listen that our teamwork clicked and we flowed through the process and completed the task at hand.
We see in verse 5 that Jesus’ mother told the servants, to “Do whatever he tells you.”
It’s important to follow the instructions of we want to experience positive results.
So often we try to figure things out on our own, only to find out that it would have been so much easier just to follow the instructions.
It’s just that simple!!!
Now watch this, the Bible says that were six stone water jars nearby that was normally used for Jewish ceremonial washing. And each of the jars could hold between twenty to thirty gallons.
Now watch this, they were out of wine and Mary told them that whatever Jesus told them to do, to follow His instructions!!!
It’s just that simple!!!
He told the servants,
1 – to “Fill the jars with water.”
They did just what they were told to do!!!
When’s the last time you followed the instructions of what the Lord told you to do?
And the Bible says that when the jars had been filled, Jesus gave them the next set of instructions.
2 – he told them to, “Now dip some out,
Then the instructions didn’t end there,
3 – He said and take it to the master of ceremonies.”
How many of you know that sometimes we complete part of what we are asked to do, and skip parts of it and realize that we miss out on something special.
So the servants followed his instructions.
9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.
10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”
11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
12 After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.
