How’s Your Mindset

How’s Your Mindset

Pastor Carolyn J. Blue

KJV Philippians 2: 1-11

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

NLT

Philippians 2: 1-11

1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate

2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves

4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,

8 He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

How’s your mindset tonight? I know that many of you’ve been at work all day today and for those of you who haven’t been to work, you’ve had a lot of things going on in your life. For many of us life has been life but even in the mist of life life, how is your mindset?

Sometimes our mindset can put us in a funk and push us in the dark place.

But then, for some of us, our mindset has been stayed on Jesus, and we have not allowed the enemy to bombard our thoughts, which keeps us focused on the things of God

So I asked the question again how’s your mindset?

Been pushing through week after week and trying to run on and see what the end is going to be

But if you want to see what it’s going to be, you need to shift your mindset.

Because whatever you think about you become whatever you think about you behold whatever you think about you are!

The scripture says in the second chapter of Philippians verse five to let this man be in you that’s also in Christ Jesus! But my question for you is what mine is in Christ Jesus?

Before we even look at what’s in the mind of Christ, let me ask you what’s in your mind?

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ evident in your life

Any comfort from his love for you and others

Any fellowship together with others in the Spirit

Is your heart tender and compassionate towards others

How’s your mindset?

If you answered yes to these questions, you are in the right track and headed in the right direction.

Pail goes on to say that it would make him happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

How’s your mindset?

Are you agreeable with others or are you always looking for the negative in others?

Let this mind be in you that’s also in Christ Jesus!!!

The scripture says: Don’t be selfish; and don’t try to impress others, but Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves

When’s the last time you put others and their needs ahead of you?

He goes on to say, Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

When you have this mindset, you are showing the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Jesus gave us the perfect example of how to have the mindset.

The Bible says that although He was God, He did not think of himself as equal with God as something to cling to or to be.

But Instead, He gave up all of his divine privileges; and He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being when he appeared in human form,

The scripture clearly states that He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

How’s your mindset?

As a result, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, and that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

How’s your mindset? Are you ready to shift your mindset?
