If The Shoe Fits …Wear It

1 John 1: 5-10

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
How many of you got the memo that today is Back To Church Sunday and that you were asked to wear your sneakers?
Well even if you didn’t get the message, did everyone wear shoes today?
I’m glad you did because you need your shoes on today!!!
When the word speaks to you today, and you hear me say “If The Shoe Fits … Wear It” I need you to say “I’ve Got My Sneakers On”
Keep your Sneakers on! Don’t take them off because you don’t want to obey God’s instructions! The word is for those of us who are believers!
If the shoe fits… wear it!!!
The idiom “if the shoe fits…wear it” means that something said or suggested about someone is true and that the person should accept it as true.
So as God speaks to you today and if the shoe fits… just wear it!!!
The author of the First Epistle of John, or 1 John, is believed to be John the Apostle, one of the original Twelve Apostles of Jesus, and he is writing to the believers.
This let’s us know that John is speaking to you and I.
He is sharing the message that he heard from Jesus and is now declaring to each you on today:
He says that God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. This denotes that if there is any darkness at all, somebody say at all… this is not God!!!
Why? Because the word says that God is light!!! And there is NO DARKNESS IN HIM!!!
Therefore, you are lying if you say you have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; you are not practicing the truth.
If the shoe fits…wear it!!!
That does this mean? I’m glad you asked!!! You can walk in the light and darkness too!!! You have to make a decision and choose ye this day who you will serve!!!
You are either going to serve God all the way or the Bible says you are living in spiritual darkness.

However, John says that if you are walking or living in the light, as God is in the light, then you have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses you from all sin.

The Bible says that if you claim you have no sin, you are only fooling yourself and not living in the truth.
The book of Romans says that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God!!!
Therefore, stop fooling yourself if you think you have no sin and the truth ain’t in you!!!
If the shoe fits…wear it!!!
But there’s good news today!!! If you confess your sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you from all wickedness.
So, Apostle John is saying to be true to yourself and God and confess your faults to Him! There’s nothing like being forgiven and cleansed of ALL OF YOUR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS!!!
Look at your neighbor and say “He will forgive me and cleanse me from it All”!!!
If the shoe fits…wear it!!!
But watch this, If you claim you have not sinned, you are calling God a liar and showing that His word has no place in your heart.
So the right thing to do is to just tell the truth!!! God is a God that can not lie and will not lie!!! If He said it, it is truth!!! If you say anything contrary to His word He has no place in your heart!!!
If the shoe fits…wear it!!!
If the word finds you… receive it and correct your behavior!!!
