Praying for wisdom and guidance to win
James 1:5- If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Proverbs 3:5-6- Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
How is prayer for wisdom essential for every decision we make?
The third prayer point “God’s will” specifically tells us that we should be praying that his will be done. As believers, we long to have a closer relationship with our Father. The more intimate time we spend with God, the more we understand his character.
Psalm 37:4 says delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
When you ask God for guidance, trust in his timing for your life, and have an intimate relationship with him through your prayer life, the desires of your heart begin to align with his desires for you. And we know that his plans are for us to prosper and give us hope and a future.
- God is generous and is a cheerful giver. He will give it to you without rebuking you. So why make a decision and not ask for his wisdom?
- You can get knowledge on your own but God grants wisdom
- It’s important to pray for wisdom in every decision (work, home, Delta, church)
