Psalms 34: 1-10

1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

Try it you might just like it!

I know that you’ve heard that saying over the years: try it you might just like it!

Now for some of us, it referred to trying different types of foods when we were little, and your mom or your dad would tell you try it you might just like it, because you looked at your plate and you didn’t like the appearance of it or it was something that you never tried before!

Therefore, you were reluctant to try it for yourself!

But can’t you hear your parents saying try it you might like it! And most times once you tried it, you found that you did in fact like it!

Now for others of us, this saying may have a different meaning behind the saying try it you might just like it!

This saying could be referred to when you met some fine guy or sexy cutie, but you were reluctant to spend time with them or to go out on a date with this individual, because you weren’t sure what might happen or if you really wanted to go through with it!

But can’t you hear in the back of your mind right now that other person saying you try it might just like it!

OK, I’m not talking to anybody on this line because none of you have ever had anybody to tell you try it you might just like it!

You see I haven’t been saved all my life and I remember hearing those words try it you might just like it!

And there were times back in the day, that I actually tried it and I really did like it!

Try it you might just like it!

What I didn’t know at the time was that there would come a day that I really would want to try something better, because I might just like it!

Tonight I hear the Lord saying try it you might just like it!

So you may say try what Pastor? I am so glad you asked

Try it you might just like it!

Remember how much you liked trying this and that, well imagine how it will be if you truly tried it!!! You might just like it!!!

Our lesson tonight is a Psalm of David; when he pretended that he was insane before Abimelech drove him out, and he went away.

Like David, many of you have been through a lot in your life, and it’s time that you try something else because what you’re doing is just not working!

You’ve tried this and you’ve tried that and you find yourself with your back up against the wall.

You are like David, you are in a place where you have no choice but to praise your way out of what you are going through!

David said, that he will praise the Lord at all times, and that he will never stop singing his praises.

He was talking to the men who were with him in the cave. Just like them; he is saying to us tonight, that we who are humble, should listen and be happy, while he brag about the Lord.

The scripture says, Praise the Lord with me. Let us honor his name. How many of your truly honor the name of the Lord!!! We don’t have reverence for God nor His people!!! Imagine your life and how the blessings will flow when you learn to honor God and His servants.
